Pop star Sia knows a thing or two about surprises. Like this morning for example, when the Australian hitmaker surprised the world with her brand new single.
The Greatest premiered on BBC Radio 1 this morning, and per usual it is another big Sia pop stomper, featuring Kendrick Lemar.
So is this a new era for Sia? May well look like it. Noticeable change straight away, is Sia’s signature wig which has been dyed brown.
The official video, released this morning, features a segment dedicated to the LGBT Orlando shooting victims. For The Greatest concept Sia co-directed once more with Daniel Askill. The pair also teamed up with choreographer Ryan Hefftington and starring dancer Maddie Ziegler. The foursome collaborated on Sia’s smash videos including Chandelier, Elastic Heart and Cheap Thrills.
But more surprisingly, the singer is also indicating she’s about to release an eight album, rumoured to be called We Are Your Children.
Have you been as impressed by Sia’s album This is Acting as we have? Good, because her overall seventh studio album has been on repeat, ever since it was released two weeks ago.
But Sia’s definitely not planning on sitting back and relax. The promotion is continuing with the release of what is expected to be her brand new single, Cheap Thrills.
As we explained previously, the Greg-Kurstin collaboration Cheap Thrills was originally intended for Rihanna’s ANTI collection, but she rejected the track (We can not figure out why). Now rather than releasing the track as it is featured on the album, Sia’s gone a step further and asked Jamaican rapper Sean Paul to guest feature on this new version.
Sean’s added a brand new verse in the intro of the song and can be heard throughout the first during and the choruses, adding even more Jamaican flavour to the already exotic sounding track.
The lyric video, was uploaded onto the singer’s Youtube account today. Check it out below:
