The two leading ladies of the British pop industry are certainly ready to get the world in their grip with the release of their upcoming joint single ‘Doin It’.
Charli XCX, the master brain behind Iggy Azalea’s Fancy (on which shes’ featured) and Icona Pop’s mega hit I Love It, is set to release her debut album ‘Sucker’ later this year. So far the singer has provided us with some rock solid, edgy pop songs which have a huge nod back to the eighties. ‘Doin It’, which featured current The voice UK judge Rita Ora is no exception to the rule.
The video, which premiered earlier this evening, is a lot to take in. There’s a bit of Thelma and Louise versus Beyonce and Lady Gaga ‘Telephone’ scenes goin on, bare chested police offers riding bulls, crazy pink cowboy outfits and even an old man in just his skimpy costume. But hey the main important thing is Rita Ora and Charli XCX are doin’ it and they are doing it bloody brilliant.
This is a massive chart hit in the making. The single is out February 9, in the UK.
Things did go a little quiet from the Dj Fresh camp for the last couple of months, but Drum & Bass pioneer Daniel Stein, has unveiled his upcoming single ‘Gravity’, out for release February 2015.
After having teamed up with established acts Rita Ora, Miss Dynamite, Ellie Goulding in the last few months, the dj and music producer has chosen upcoming talent Ella Eyre to take on the vocals for Gravity.
Eyre’s music profile drastically increased after she vocals features on the Rudimental hit single ‘Waiting All Night’, prompting her to kick off her own solo career within the last year. The singer recently won the 2014 MOBO Award for best newcomer and is set to release her debut album ‘Feline’, early February 2015.
‘Gravity’ can be pre-ordered here and is out February 8, 2015.
