It’s been quiet for a few weeks but we’re all back to deliver you a few reviews of songs that have caught my attention. While the internet is going crazy for the likes of Lana Del Reys album, I’ve got three great songs in mind which I’d like present to you all. You ready?
Let’s start off with one of the most promising British singer songwriters of the moment. During the last part of 2011, Scottish Emeli Sande, started her road to fame when her debut single ‘Heaven’ and her collaboration on Professor Green’s ‘Read All About it’ hit the charts here in the UK. Two singles and one collaboration later, Emeli is getting herself ready to launch her very first album ‘Our Version of Events’ lifting the following jem as a warmer up.
‘Next To Me’ has this really great gospel vibe, which is noticable in the piano beat throughout the song. Again Emeli’s voice is absolutely stunning and suits the overal feeling really well. The song is a lot more upbeat as well in comparison to what she delivered in ‘Heaven’ and the inmensely underrated ‘Daddy’ and I am really hoping she continues to go into the direction of this uptempo stuff.
This jem will have you tapping your feet, want to get up and bust a little move, and by the second time you hear the chorus, you’ll be shouting it out as well.In case you want to join in. Here it is:
”next to me ooooh
next to me ooooh
next to me ooooh
you will find him, you’ll find him next to me”
It’s been a while since we’ve been so excited about a new artist and we can’t be more excited to hear that Emeli has also been nomited as the winner of the BRITS Critics Choice award 2012.
‘Next To Me’ is available to download via Itunes on the 12th February, while ‘Our Version of Events’ will be available on 13th of February and can be pre-ordered here: http://bit.ly/OurVersionOfEvents
