Israel’s Eurovision faith lays with IMRI, who follows in the footsteps of Nadav Guedj and Hovi Star to bring the trophy to Israel.
Eurovision Backing vocalist
IMRI’s no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2015 and 2016, the singer was part of the Israeli team as backing vocalist, supporting the main artists.
This year, IMRI auditioned for the Israeli talent show HaKokhav Haba L’Eurovizion, (Engl. The Next Star For Eurovision), which he eventually won. He’s the third male act to come from the show and head to Eurovision.
After winning the show, IMRI and his team went on to find a song, suitable for the contest. They came across I Feel Alive, a progressive pop song which features EDM and ethnic influences.
Just like their 2015 entry, IMRI’s entry is all about having fun and providing three minutes of great entertainment for Europe. With I Feel Alive, Europe gets exactly what it says on the tin.
Add to the fun, a signature sound that reminds of Israel’s cultural identity, and a fresh looking pop star who can pull off an impressive falsetto in the chorus, and the perfect recipe to close the second semi-final has been found.
Getting a place in the final on May 13, shouldn’t be a problem at all. If staged well, there’s no reason to think, IMRI couldn’t be Israel, and Europe, Golden boy.
If you can’t get enough of IMRI, then the singer has another treat for you. Today the official remix for I Feel Alive, premiered on the singer’s Youtube channel, which adds even more beats to it. Now you can feel alive on the dance floor or in the gym. Check it out below:
