Latvian festival regulars Triana Park have finally succeeded in representing their country at the Eurovision Song Contest this year.
National selection veterans
Agnese Rakosvka, front lady of the four piece act, has had quite her share, grabbing the Latvian ticket. The group have appeared in no more than six national finals, winning Supernova at last this year with Line.
In all fairness to the band, Line is by far their most radio and Eurovision friendly entry of all their attempts. So hardly a surprise it convincingly won the national final back in February. If you loved Danish singer songwriter MØ, team up with producers Major Lazer and Snakehips, Line’s most likely right up your street.
Remember, these guys are headliners on all Latvian summer festivals. No surprise, Line has that summer festival feel in buckets. Add to that a performance full of neon light bonanza and you end up with a perfect closer, May 9th.
If Triana Park manage to qualify, Supernova becomes Latvia’s most successful selection method to date. While it’s yet to generate an overall Eurovision winner, Latvia has managed to qualify two times in a row, since the introduction of the current format. No pressure for Triana Park there then.
