Girl Power has been dominating the charts without a doubt in 2011 and when I listen to many music lovers it looks like everybody is desperate for some now man power in the charts. A few 2012 suggestions…
Chris Brown – Turn up the music
American singer-songwriter, dancer and actor Chris Brown doesn’t need much of an introduction to many of us. His latest album ‘The F.A.M.E’ put him back in the music spotlights after the 2009 assault of former girlfriend Rihanna. It seems like Chris is back completely because his latest cut ‘Turn up the music’ is one big bouncy, dance tune. And we love it. It’s really catchy, reminds us a bit of the direction mr Derulo, one of our other artists in this thread, and we’re always in for a good ‘Oooh woow’. There’s a bit of ‘On the Floor’ there as well so we won’t complain. We can’t wait for the official video, which should be full of funky, groovy dance moves.
R.I.O – Turn this club arround ft U-Jean
‘Turn this Club arround’ is the first dance track being serviced to the UK radio, produced by German R.I.O featuring the guest vocals of U-Jean. As with Chris Brown, this song is perfect for the gym workout, and as mentioned before there is something really really catchy about this song. This time no ‘Ooh woow’s’ but an ‘Ayo Ayo’. Not necessarily innovating but it does make it catchy. The vocals of R.I.O remind me a bit of Taio Cruz as well, or maybe that’s just the Ayo’s. Anyway, a funky tune, which will have the boys and girls dancing in the clubs without any doubt.
Jason Derulo – Breathing
And last but not least, Jason Derulo’s latest offer. I am loving this so much better than his two latest offerings. Again it’s really funky, great beat. Absolutely lovin’ the vocals on the track and then there’s the Ayayayayayayayayayayayayayaya.-bit. How can this not be a hit. Plus let’s be honest mr Derulo does look quite tasty too in the video. This is pop at its best!
Who said man power in the charts was dead? Do you agree? Get involved!!!
I’ve been dying to show this tune to you. Let me proudly present to you Yasmin. Last year she gave us two fantastic tunes called ‘On My Own’ and ‘Finish Line’ Both incredibly fantastic. 2012 is supposed to be spectacular for this lady, who started off as a dj in London with her debut album coming out and the release of single number 3 ‘Light Up the World’ which is a collaboration with Mss Dynamite and Shy FX.
I love the unusual arrangement of the song, it stays perfectly in line with the other two songs Yasmin has done so far. The great thing about her songs are as well that they are the basis of great remixes made by the Freemasons. And they are great to put on your workout playlist. Nevertheless, Yasmin’s vocals are so dreamy and lovely, plus the chorus of this song is soo brilliant. I just wanna Light up the wooo’ooo’ooorld. Just amazing.
Get involved what are your thoughts on Yasmin’s Light Up the World?
Shame for the fans who were keeping their hopes up for a Spice Girls reunion after Scary spice slip up, but a reunion might not happen. Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice has it too busy to be part of the performance for the Queens Jubilee on June 4th. Shame oh shame, or is she secretly in but pretending to be the difficult one? We’ll soon found out as the names of the artists who will be performing will be announced during this week. The event is being organized by Gary Barlow.
After Madonna released info on her latest single, she has now also confirmed the release date for her 12th album ‘MDNA’. The album will be released on March 26th. Madonna however also announced that her fans will be able pre-order an Exclusive 18-track deluxe edition of the album from February 3rd to Monday February 6th. When preordering, you’ll be able to buy the album at £7.99 and receive the new single ‘Gimme All your Luvin”. Great stuff Madge!
After Saturday’s rumour that Britney and Shakira are recording a duet, Will.IAM has also announced to have teamed up with the half of the American female singers industry including Britney, Alicia Keys and Shakira on songs for his new album #willpower. Nicole Scherzinger is the latest lady being added onto the line up and apparently the track is a classical one. Interesting.
Both Labrinth and M.I.A. have announced their new singles. Labrinth is currently still in the UK charts with ‘Earthquake’ featuring Tinie Tempah. His latest single is called ‘Last Time’ and will be released on March, 11 while he’s debut album follows on March 19. Busy times for M.I.A as she is preparing her Madonna collaboration, premiering this Friday. The lady herself has found time however to release a new single called ‘Bad Girls’. ‘Bad Girls’ will be out tomorow January 31. Funny enough M.I.A’s video for ‘Bad Girls’ will air the same day as Madonna’s ‘Gimme Your Luvin” video. 2 M.I.A’s for the price of 1 (this is better than the Tesco offers).
Garbage fans, please go wild. The band has announced today that they have a new album in stall. ‘Not Your kind of People’ will be the band’s 5th album and is scheduled to be released May 14 through their very own label Stunvolume.
Great news for the Madonna fans. The queen of pop has revealed news about her forthcoming single release.
‘Gimme Your Luvin” ft Nicki Minaj & MIA will be available for purchase on 3rd February, three days before her highly anticipated Super Bowl performance. “Give Me All Your Luvin'” is the first single from Madonna’s upcoming album MDNA, her 12th studio album and follow up to 2008’s Hard Candy which debuted at No. 1 in 37 countries. The song was written by Madonna, Martin Solveig, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A, composed by Martin Solveig and Michael Tordjman and produced by Madonna and Martin Solveig.
As for the video “Give Me All Your Luvin’ ” was directed by Megaforce, and is football and cheerleader themed – inspired by her upcoming Super Bowl appearance. The world preview for the video is an American Idol exclusive on Thursday, Feb. 2 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) while the full video for “Give Me All Your Luvin'” will premiere on Madonna’s YouTube channel on February 3rd at 9am EST/6am PST.
As for the album, MDNA, recorded in New York and LA, sees Madonna reuniting with William Orbit (“Ray of Light”) who co-wrote and co-produced several cuts on the new album. Other co producers include Martin Solveig, The Demolition Crew, Marco “Benny” Benassi and Alessandro “Alle” Benassi, Hardy “Indiigo” Muanza, Michael Malih and Madonna. A release date for the album has not been mentioned yet but we’re all excited already!!!
Madonna teased us earlier in the week with a sneak peek behind the scenes of producing her album MDNA. You can watch it below.
Hope you are all enjoying your saturday. Saturday is party night so I’ve been desperately wanting to post these songs to you all. Not a new release but this young lady, has not quite hit the fame yet as I was hoping she would. We’re talking about Azealia Banks.
This young lady is an American rapper, singer and lyricist from Harlem, New York has recently been signed to Universal Records. Just before she got signed she released this great Dance tune ‘212’ featuring Lazy Jay, and boy, this is so great. Was released on 6th December but didn’t get quite as far then a 75th place in the UK Singles Chart (Boohw!) It really is an amazing tune, so check it out because this is awesome to get you ready for a good Saturday night out.
‘212’ might not have had the success it deserved, but the potential to be a massive star is there, as she ended up 3rd in the BBC Sound of 2012 list. So watch this space for more Azealia.
From Azealia to former Idols winner Kelly Clarkson, who’s back in the business. Quite a while ago, Kelly’s management announced the release of ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)’. Well good news for the dance fans because the 7th Heaven team have been granted permission to rework, the popsong in a fantastic club-tune. I can’t sit still on this one, it is so good. 7th Heaven knows exactly what they need to do to transform great popsong in absolute dance bangers! Listen to it below. The release of the EP with mixes is expected for February. The original version of ‘Stronger’ can be downloaded via Itunes already.
And last but not least, it’s our very own Rebecca Ferguson who announced a few weeks ago that ‘Too Good to loose’ would be the second cut from her debut album ‘Heaven’. We all remember how Rebecca Ferguson rocked the stage during the X Factor 2010 edition doing the Dance anthems. ‘Too Good To Loose’ is probably the only song on her album that comes close to that genre and has now been remixed by Seamus Haji. We Love the original and this version. Absolutely breathtaking! The release date for ‘Too Good to Loose’ is expected somewhere in March. Definately go and buy it!
Get the weekend started!!
